Shaping the future of drone delivery together

Drone Express has expanded its partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as part of the BEYOND Program, an initiative by the Federal Aviation Administration to promote routine commercial and government drone use in the national airspace system. As a key player in the program, Drone Express is committed to expanding the limits of autonomous drone delivery services and integrating innovative technologies into daily operations.

Drone Express CEO Beth Flippo was excited about working with NCDOT and emphasized the importance of local drone delivery services and their impact on communities. By combining Drone Express's expertise in air logistics with NCDOT's commitment to innovation and safety, the partnership aims to explore new opportunities in unmanned air delivery operations.

Since joining the BEYOND program in 2020, Drone Express has worked with industry leaders including Zipline, Flytrex, and Amazon to drive advancements in drone technology. The collaboration with NCDOT will focus on testing and deploying drone delivery solutions in various environments, including urban, suburban and rural areas.

The BEYOND program aims to address challenges related to operations beyond visibility, industrial operations, and citizen participation to maximize the social and economic benefits of operating UAS. By working closely with NCDOT and other partners, Drone Express aims to drive innovation in the drone delivery industry and establish best practices for safe and efficient operations.

Stakeholders, industry partners, and the public are encouraged to help Drone Express and NCDOT shape the future of drone delivery as part of the BEYOND program. By participating in this collaborative effort, individuals can contribute to the advancement of drone technology and pave the way for a more efficient and sustainable future of unmanned air systems.
